Industry Smart Grid Awards 2025: Honoring Three Indonesian Smart Energy Companies 

Jakarta, October 21, 2025 – As part of the DECAGRID International Symposium 2025 series, the Indonesian Smart Grid Association (PJCI) presented special awards to three global companies that play a major role in the development of digital energy infrastructure in Indonesia. Through the Industry Smart Grid Awards session, this appreciation serves as a symbol of recognition for the industry’s dedication and real contribution in strengthening the national Smart Grid ecosystem.

Three Companies, Three Strategic Contributions

The award was presented directly by Bambang Patijaya,Chairman of Commission VII of the Indonesian House of Representatives, and Tri Winarno,Director General of Minerals and Coal, Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, on the main stage of the Auditorium of the HQ Office of PT PLN (Persero).

The three presented awards to representatives of three leading companies:

  1. 🥇 Siemens – National Smart Grid Implementation Leader
    Represented by Jean Philippe El Khoury, Vice President, Siemens Grid Software SEASiemens is considered successful in leading the digital transformation of the electricity system through Grid Software and Smart Infrastructure solutions that support national energy efficiency.
  1. 🥈 Huawei – Smart Grid Innovation & Technology Enabler
    Received by Julian Zeng,Director of Huawei Indonesia, PLN Account Dept.This award recognizes Huawei’s innovation in delivering integrated communications and data technology for a more resilient and secure energy grid.
  1. 🥉 Schneider Electric – Digital Infrastructure for Smart Grid Excellence
    Represented by Antoine Thomachot,Digital Grid Business Development APAC PT Schneider IndonesiaSchneider Electric is considered to be consistently pushing the digitalization of energy distribution systems through a sustainability and automation-based approach.

Industry-Government Collaboration: The Key to a Smart Energy Future

In his remarks, Dr. Ir. Suroso Isnandar,Executive Chairman PJCI, said that this award is not just a form of appreciation, but also an invitation to strengthen the synergy between the government and industry:

“We can’t build the Smart Grid alone. It will take industry courage, policy support, and technological innovation to deliver an adaptive, safe, and sustainable energy system.” he said.

This awards session also serves as an important opportunity to emphasize the crucial role of the private sector in accelerating the transition to green energy and the digitalization of the national electricity system.

The 2025 Industry Smart Grid Awards marks a new chapter in cross-sector synergy between the government, global industry, and national energy players.

With the support of companies like Siemens, Huawei, and Schneider Electric, Indonesia is getting closer to the grand vision of Smart Grid 2035—an energy system that is intelligent, efficient, and globally competitive.
