PJCI, MASTEL, and MKI Attend ISUW 2026 in India: Expanding Global Collaboration for Digital Energy Transformation
Jakarta, April 8, 2026 – The Indonesian Smart Grid Initiative Association (PJCI), together with delegates from the Indonesian Telematics Society (MASTEL) and the Indonesian Electricity Society (MKI), participated in the international event India Smart Utility Week (ISUW) 2026, held on March 10–14, 2026, at The Lalit Hotel, New Delhi, India.
This participation represents a strategic step in strengthening Indonesia’s engagement in the global discourse on the transformation of the increasingly digitalized energy and utility sector. The presence of the Indonesian delegation was supported by Pamerindo Indonesia, the Indonesian Electrical Equipment Manufacturers Association (APPI), and PT Prima Marina Tehnik as main sponsors. In this context, Pamerindo Indonesia not only provided support but also leveraged ISUW 2026 as a strategic platform to promote Electric Power Indonesia (EPI) to an international audience, aiming to expand reach, open collaboration opportunities, and enhance the visibility of Indonesia’s power sector on the global stage.
The Indonesian delegation consisted of Ir. Bagus Setyawan, MBA and Lena Lusiana (PJCI), Ir. Teguh Prasetya, M. WP (MASTEL), and Ir. Habibie Razak FIEAust., EngExec., IntPE (MKI).

A Global Platform for the Future of Energy
India Smart Utility Week (ISUW) 2026 served as a strategic meeting platform for regulators, industry players, technology providers, and organizations from around the world to discuss the future direction of the energy sector.
More than just a conference, the forum featured in-depth discussions on how digitalization, artificial intelligence, and renewable energy integration will shape a more adaptive, efficient, and sustainable power system.
For Indonesia, this participation provided an opportunity not only to understand global developments but also to bring national perspectives to the international stage.
Day One: When AI Begins to Drive Energy Systems
The event series began with a training session titled “Agentic AI for Utility and Energy Businesses”, introducing how artificial intelligence has evolved from a supporting tool into a system capable of making operational decisions.
This technology enables:
- Prediction of equipment failures before they occur
- Optimization of power plant performance
- Real-time data analysis
This approach is further strengthened by the use of Large Language Models (LLMs), which can process and interpret large-scale data to support various operational functions.

Day Two: Energy Transformation Toward a Digital Ecosystem
On the second day, discussions focused on utility digitalization and the transformation of energy business models.
One of the highlighted concepts was Peer-to-Peer (P2P) Energy Trading, where electricity can be traded directly between users through blockchain-based digital platforms.
Within this system, new roles emerge:
- Prosumers as both producers and consumers of energy
- Digital platforms as transaction enablers
- Smart meters for real-time monitoring
This transformation demonstrates that future energy systems will become more open, decentralized, and participatory.

Day Three: Exploring Future Energy Systems
The third day featured sessions on smart grid development and future energy systems, including:
- Flexumers and DER integration
- Smart metering and data analytics
- Utility digitalization roadmaps
- Small Modular Reactors (SMR)
These discussions emphasized that energy transformation depends not only on technology but also on system readiness and policy frameworks.

Day Four: International Collaboration and Knowledge Exchange
The fourth day marked an important milestone with the India–Indonesia Smart Grid Forum, bringing together stakeholders from both countries.
This forum served as a strategic dialogue platform to exchange experiences, challenges, and opportunities in developing intelligent energy systems.

Day Five: Insights from ISUW 2026 Technical Visits
On the final day, India Smart Utility Week (ISUW) 2026 concluded with technical visits to various energy facilities in India, including national load dispatch centers and renewable energy management centers.
This agenda, part of the official ISUW program, provided firsthand insights into the implementation of smart grid technologies and large-scale energy system management.
The Strategic Role of Pamerindo Indonesia, APPI, and PT Prima Marina Tehnik
Support from Pamerindo Indonesia, APPI, and PT Prima Marina Tehnik as main sponsors played a crucial role in enabling the participation of the Indonesian delegation in India Smart Utility Week (ISUW) 2026. This collaboration reflects strong synergy between exhibition organizers, industry associations, and business actors in advancing Indonesia’s involvement in global energy forums.
Beyond supporting participation, this collaboration also strengthens Indonesia’s position in building international connectivity and expanding engagement with global stakeholders, as reflected in:
- Strengthened global networks
- Knowledge and technology exchange
- Cross-sector collaboration development
This synergy highlights that the transformation of the national energy sector requires cross-ecosystem collaboration and serves as a key foundation for expanding Indonesia’s role in the global energy landscape.
