ISGET 2025 Day 3: Company Visit Highlights Indonesia’s Renewable Energy Innovation
Cirata, 20 September 2025 – The final day of ISGET 2025 took participants beyond theory and into practice through an exclusive company visit to one of Indonesia’s most important renewable energy hubs: Cirata. This immersive experience allowed participants to see firsthand how the principles of smart grid technology and renewable integration are being implemented at scale.
The day began with a warm welcome session at the PLTA Cirata office, where participants were introduced to the operational scope of PLN Nusantara Power UP Cirata. The presentation highlighted the strategic role of hydropower in balancing Indonesia’s energy supply while serving as a foundation for integrating other renewable sources.
The first stop of the visit was the 1 MW Cirata Solar Power Plant (PLTS). Here, participants witnessed how solar technology is contributing to the national grid, offering clean, reliable, and sustainable electricity. Experts on-site explained the technical challenges and solutions in maintaining efficiency under Indonesia’s climatic conditions.
From there, the group proceeded to the Dam Control Center, where they learned about water resource management and its critical role in hydroelectric power generation. This session underscored the interconnectedness of energy production, environmental sustainability, and local resource management. Participants also enjoyed a networking lunch, providing an opportunity to discuss potential collaborations and exchange ideas in a more informal setting.
The highlight of the day was the visit to the Cirata Floating Solar Power Plant (PLTS Terapung). As one of the largest floating solar projects in Southeast Asia, this facility is a symbol of Indonesia’s commitment to renewable energy innovation. The floating solar panels showcased not only the technological capability of Indonesia but also its innovative approach in maximizing space efficiency and minimizing environmental impact.
For many participants, the visit provided an eye-opening perspective on how hydro and solar technologies can complement one another, creating a hybrid solution that strengthens grid reliability and accelerates the country’s energy transition agenda.
Day 3 concluded ISGET 2025 on an inspiring note. Participants left Cirata with a renewed sense of purpose, having experienced both the strategic vision and practical implementation of Indonesia’s renewable energy roadmap.
