Clash of Youth Energy Champions 2025: The Spirit of the Young Generation Drives Sustainable Energy
Jakarta, October 21, 2025 – As part of the DECAGRID International Symposium 2025 series, the Indonesian Smart Grid Association (PJCI) held the Clash of Youth Energy Champion (COYEC) 2025 at the Auditorium on the 3rd floor, The HQ Office of PT PLN (Persero).
This competition provides a platform for young people to showcase their knowledge, collaboration, and innovative spirit in the fields of energy, sustainability, and smart technology.
COYEC 2025 carries a quiz competition format that tests participants’ ability to think quickly, work together, and critically analyze energy issues. Participants came from various communities and universities in Indonesia that are active in the sustainable energy movement.
Each round—starting from Team Round, Fastest Buzzer Round, until Essay Challenge Round. It was exciting, interactive, and competitive, reflecting the high enthusiasm of the younger generation for the future of green energy.

The assessment process was carried out by a panel of judges consisting of young professionals and academics in the energy sector, Mr. Ibnu Kahfi Bachtiar (Lecturer of STEI ITB & Academy and Vocational Dept. of PJCI) and Mr. Dimas Bangun Fiddiansyah (Manager of the Electric Power Digitalization PLN Head Office and Head of Flexible Gen, Renewable Energy and Energy Storage Dep of PJCI). Both judges are based on the accuracy of answers, speed of response, and participants’ understanding of energy and sustainability issues, both at the national and global levels.

The Top Three Teams of COYEC 2025
After going through tough competition, the three best teams managed to achieve the top positions in COYEC 2025:
🥇 Mangrove Jakarta Community
🥈 East Java Mangrove Community
🥉 Society of Renewable Energy, Andalas University
These three teams demonstrated in-depth knowledge, critical thinking skills, and solid teamwork in addressing various challenges surrounding energy and sustainability.

Strengthening the Commitment of the Young Generation
Through COYEC 2025, PJCI affirms its commitment to encouraging the participation of the younger generation in building a smart, green, and inclusive national energy ecosystem.
This event proves that the future of Indonesia’s energy lies in the hands of young people who are creative, caring, and ready to innovate for the nation’s sustainability.

The atmosphere became even more lively with the holding of the Clash of Youth Energy Champion (COYEC) 2025, an interactive competition involving student communities and organizations in the energy sector.

Innovation and Appreciation Stage
The symposium also featured the Industry Smart Grid Awards and an Exhibition Tour, where companies such as Siemens, Huawei, Schneider Electric, and PT LEN Industri showcased their latest digital solutions for smart energy systems.
